Morecambe and Burton kept their 100% records both recording victories on Tuesday night. Kevin Ellison’s third of the season was enough to see Morecambe overcome Oxford whilst Stuart Beavon struck to give Burton a win over Exeter. A brace from Andy Mangan helped Shrewsbury see off lowly Accrington. Mangan struck twice, either side of Connor Goldson and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro’s penalty. Accrington saw goalkeeper Luke Simpson sent off on a bad night for Stanley. Highly rated winger Jed Wallace and a debut goal from Craig Westcarr saw Pompey see off Northampton. WImbledon stayed unbeaten with a 1-0 victory away at Southend with George Francomb getting only goal of game.
Cheltenham and Carlisle played out a stalemate at Whaddon Road with the Cumbrians getting their first point of the season. Wycombe lost their perfect start losing 2-0 at home to Tranmere. Cole Stockton and Max Power struck for Rovers to move them up to 11th. Chris Clements’s second minute strike for Mansfield saw of Newport. Deane Smalley’s penalty 8 minutes into stoppage time rescued a point for Plymouth. Connor Calcutt scored his 1st of the season for Boro but Smalley’s late penalty snatched a point.
Luke Howell and Abu Ogogo struck for Dagenham to leave Hartlepool joint bottom of league 2. Substitute Pelly Ruddock snatched a late point for Luton at home to Bury. Danny Rose struck in the second half but Bury failed to hang on to the lead. Wes Fletcher’s penalty 8 minutes from time completed York’s comeback at home to Cambridge. Tom Elliot and Kwesi Appiah put the U’s in front before Jake Hyde halved deficit just before half time. Fletcher’s penalty earned York a point.
